It’s always a good idea to have an extra copy of things lying around, just in case something happens to the original. There are various specialized computer applications which help create backups of selective, or the entire sets of data. As such, Task:BAR provides the tools you need, and even encryption.
Can be used on the go
A cool advantage here is that you don’t even need to go through a setup process to make it work, so it’s the right tool to carry around to perform backup operations on different computers. Before everything works though, you need to be sure that .NET Framework is already on your computer. Registry entries are not put at risk, so stability is not affected.
The visual design is clean, with a side panel for quick selection of backup operations, and a large panel to show the list of directories to be backed up. Needless to say that you can add more than one, but you can also choose to target a single file instead.
Set up operation filters
Backup operations include incremental, full, or restoring. Note that the process starts at the press of a button, so it’s best to first take the time to set up backup parameters to prevent losing any data. There’s the possibility to set up file filters, exclusion lists, or whether or not to overwrite existing files without alerting you.
Last but not least, the application also comes with a built-in encryption algorithm to help protect data. Unlike other encryption methods, this one relies on a key file you can load if you have one create, or choose to build one on the spot.
A few last words
Taking everything into consideration, we can state that Task:BAR comes in handy for creating backup files of custom locations or your entire computer. There’s also an encryption tool to also add some degree of security to your files, making this application worth your while overall.
